What is Mediawiki
Mediawiki is a popular open source wiki that allows users to create collaborative websites and community web sites. Wikis allows site visitor to participate in content creation by allowing live editing of web pages using a relatively simple syntax, history of edits, reverting changes, etc. The most famous wiki, Wikipedia, is powered by Mediawiki.

Minimum Requirements to Install Mediawiki 1.15.0
1. Apache or IIS web server. *Downtown Host offers Apache web server.
2. PHP version 5.0 or above. *Downtown Host offers PHP 5.2.9.
3. Database server: MySQL 4.0 or above or PostgreSQL 8.1 or later. *Downtown Host offers MySQL 5.0.81
4. For thumbnailing images, ImageMagick or GD library is required. *Downtown Host offers both.
